RAU is based on ward 305 and has several assessment trolleys. RAU role consists of assessing and treating acutely unwell renal patients and assisting the medical team in the procedure room.
Essential skills include:
* Phlebotomy
* Cannulation
* Peritoneal Dialysis competency
* Skills to access central venous devices
We are looking for an experienced nurse with Renal knowledge that is keen to develop their clinical skills and assist with leading the RAU team. Additional training will be provided with a supernumerary period to allow for the required additional training.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication with patients and members of the multi-disciplinary team, essential to ensure safe patient centred care, to maintain the flow through RAU and the smooth management of the procedure room. The role will involve caring for patients that have a range of renal related conditions for example chronic and acute renal failure and kidney transplants.
