Are you passionate about shaping and inspiring the workforce of tomorrow? We're looking for a creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic Multi Skills Vocational Trainer to join our vibrant team! This role will be suitable for anyone with a multi-trades background in Plastering, Joinery and/or Bricklaying, or prior experience in teaching a multi-skills course. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as a Multi Skills Vocational Trainer. This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. Candidates must hold a level 2 or 3 qualification in one of the following: Plastering, Joinery or Bricklaying. Site Information HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society Role Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for curriculum planning, training and assessment for learners on our level 1 multi-skills course. Please see the attached role profile for an overview of general role responsibilities. Specific details pertaining to the individual role will be shared during the interview process. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to: Hold a minimum L3 qualification in relevant, subject specific area (Plastering, Bricklaying or Joinery) Hold a minimum L3 teaching qualification, e.g. AET, PTTLS or equivalent Hold at least a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Hold, or commit to gain within 1 year, appropriate Assessor qualification (TAQA 3, A1 or equivalent) Achieve quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination Produce accurate and timely reports Provide a positive contribution to establishment planning & development processes Demonstrate positive team working at all times Achieve 'Good' or above in Teaching Observations Benefits 38 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays Significant Pension contributions Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Program Safeguarding Novus Cambria is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
