Overview

This role supports GCSE RS Success: Empowering Non-Specialist Teachers in Wales, a professional development project designed to help teachers deliver high-quality GCSE Religious Studies (RS). The Project provides training, resources and guidance to ensure that teachers feel confident and well-equipped to teach the new GCSE specification.


Responsibilities

* Liaise with teachers and education professionals to facilitate their engagement and participation in the research project.
* Organise and coordinate webinars, online meetings and training sessions to support project delivery and dissemination activities.
* Support project communications, drafting correspondence, maintaining contact databases and managing stakeholder queries.
* Assist in researching and compiling information relevant to GCSE Religious Studies teaching to inform project development and outputs.
* Contribute to the design, development and dissemination of educational resources such as workbooks, video content and teaching guides.
* Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, project activities and feedback to support project monitoring and evaluation.
* Provide administrative and logistical support, including data entry, document management and preparation of progress reports.
* Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely completion of project milestones, deliverables and reporting requirements.


Qualifications / Training

* Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area (Philosophy, Ethics, Religion and/or Theology).


Desirable

* Further or higher education qualification.
* Training or certification in administration, project coordination, or education-related fields.


Skills and Abilities

* Previous experience in coordinating pedagogical professional learning opportunities and developing teaching resources.
* Previous administrative experience, especially coordinating meetings, events or projects.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Experience with online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and proactively, and collaborate within a team.


Other Desirable

* Experience in an education, training, or not-for-profit context.
* Skills in resource formatting, video editing, or digital content creation.
* Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role.


Employment Details

Grade 6: £30,805 – £37,174 p.a. pro rata. Fixed‑term contract until 31 July 2026. Part‑time 40% FTE. Responsibility to Project Lead.

Location: Bangor campus. Option to work remotely (within the UK) to support work‑life balance.
