Overview
A young adult male with Autism requires a support worker who is a driver to access the community, socialise, and participate in voluntary work. No personal care is involved, just reassurance and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
* Provide companionship and support to enable community access, social activities, and participation in voluntary work.
* Assist with planning and accompanying the individual on outings, meals out, gym visits, walks, and other activities as appropriate.
* Drive the individual to appointments and activities using the car provided or your own car with expenses reimbursed.
* Maintain a positive, caring, and fun attitude to support engagement and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full, clean driving licence is required.
* Willingness to drive the car provided when necessary or use your own car with expenses provided.
* Previous experience with adults with Autism is beneficial but not essential.
* A caring, fun attitude with a good sense of humour is desirable.
Hours and Pay
Hours are varied and flexible to suit mutual needs but generally consist of 4-hour shifts covering either dinner or teatime. Longer shifts may be required for full days out, mutually agreed. Up to 24.5 hours per week are available, with an hourly rate of £13.00.
Additional Notes
This is a great position with good rates of pay and flexible hours. The last Support Workers stayed 3 years and became part of our family. A love of eating out, walking, using the gym and thrill-seeking is essential. Theme parks are heavily involved.
