Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for supporting children in foster care? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We're looking for a committed and experienced professional to lead our Placement Support Team within Bridgend County Borough Council's fostering service.
About the Role:
As Placement Support Team Manager, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary team of Placement Support Workers and Reunification Workers, delivering high-impact, targeted support to care-experienced children and their families. Your focus will be on placement stability, timely reunification, and ensuring children and carers receive the right support at the right time.
You will:
Provide clear, effective leadership and supervision to the team.
Oversee delivery of direct support to children in foster placements and those returning home.
Work closely with fostering teams, residential services, and social workers to coordinate plans.
Monitor the quality and impact of interventions and contribute to strategic planning.
Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met and standards of practice remain high.
Lead on training needs, performance management, and reflective practice.
This is a key operational role with real scope to drive innovation and improve outcomes for children and foster carers in Bridgend.
About You:
You will bring:
Experience managing or supervising staff in a children's social care setting.
Strong understanding of fostering, reunification, and placement stability.
Good knowledge of relevant legislation and evidence-based practice models.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across services.
A relevant Level 4 qualification and willingness to complete Level 5 management training.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced Children and Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.

Weekend Working is a requirement for this post.
