Alexander Daniels are working on behalf of a valued client based in Derby who are seeking to appoint a Head of Finance to join their UK leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader looking to take the next step in their career within an international business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, the Head of Finance will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy and overall performance of the UK operation. You will be a core member of the UK Management Team, leading an established finance function and working closely with colleagues across global locations including Germany, Italy, China and the USA.
International travel to Head Office in Germany several times per year will form part of the role.
This position would suit a proactive, self‑motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to strategic decision‑making at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and management commentary
* Full ownership of the month‑end process, including trial balance, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, compliance, and stock management
* Leading budgeting and forecasting processes, with full involvement in the annual budget and ongoing reforecasts
* Supporting senior leadership with financial insight to drive short‑ and long‑term business objectives
* Managing, developing, and supporting the finance team
Requirements:
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be Qualified by Experience)
* Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Management Accountant within a commercial environment
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team
* Strong IT skills with advanced Excel capability (essential)
* Experience of SAP (desirable)
