Telephone Business Development Manager

Salary: Up to £37K + up to 25% Bonus + Benefits
Our client is a solution led, specialist mortgage lender, offering a wide variety of niche mortgage products. They are seeking a results driven sales-oriented Telephone BDM to join their dedicated Sales team. This is a new role, part of a wider expansion owing to extremely strong demand for their products and investment in the wider business.
Duties of the Telephone BDM will include:
* New Business Generation: Proactively identify, contact, and convert new mortgage intermediary partners and opportunities via telephone and digital outreach.
* Sales Strategy Execution: Implement and follow structured sales plans aimed at increasing market share and driving new business volumes.
* Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries, presenting tailored mortgage solutions aligned to their client needs.
* Lead Qualification: Rapidly qualify and nurture inbound leads, identifying needs and turning interest into completed applications.
* Market Awareness: Keep a close eye on industry trends, competitor activity, and broker feedback to inform sales activity and identify new opportunities.
* Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records, keeping all sales activity and pipeline data up to date in line with KPIs.
* Team Collaboration: Liaise with field-based Key Account Managers and underwriting teams to ensure seamless case progression and high service levels.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* A proven “hunter” – someone who is hungry to win new business and has a track record of growing revenue in their previous roles.
* Strong telephone sales experience within the financial services sector, such as:
o Consumer Credit and Personal Loans
o Pensions / Pension Trusts
o Retail Banking / Call Centre Sales
o Life Insurance
o Protection and Fund Management
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage a high volume of calls and opportunities.
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and thrives in a performance-focused environment.
