Job Summary
This role involves training new drivers to meet PCV standards and providing refresher training for licensed drivers. You will also support existing drivers to develop safer and more environmentally friendly driving skills.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver driver training to PCV standards and oversee trainee progress.
2. Support theory, hazard perception, and case study training as needed.
3. Conduct CPC Module 4 testing.
4. Perform vehicle checks, report defects, and conduct type training.
5. Introduce trainees to depots and bus stations.
6. Complete progress reports and related documentation, including C&G.
7. Coach trainees on soft skills to complement technical training.
8. Provide refresher or development training for current drivers.
9. Assist with reintegration sessions for long-term absentees and support their return to driving.
10. Support pre-employment assessments and classroom activities as required.
11. Communicate company policies and procedures effectively.
12. Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
Essential Criteria
Internal Applicants:
* Must have at least 12 months of continuous employment with Metroline / Stagecoach.
* No more than 3 penalty points on their driving licence.
* Excellent incident and customer service record.
External Candidates:
* Minimum of 12 months bus driving experience.
* Clean driving licence.

* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
* Thorough knowledge of the Highway Code and PCV legislation.
* Positive attitude towards supporting and encouraging team members.
* Ability to work under pressure effectively.
* Provide timely, effective feedback and be receptive to feedback.
* Team player with a willingness to develop others.
* Flexible in working hours and duties.
Hours of Work
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts between 06:00 and 22:00. Occasional weekend work may be required on a rota basis, along with potential outside-hours duties based on business needs.
