We are passionate about creating world-class content for koi enthusiasts, from engaging YouTube videos to professional podcasts. With a thriving YouTube channel and the growing Koi Talk podcast, we are expanding our creative team and looking for a talented videographer and editor to take charge of production.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Videographer & Editor to take full ownership of our video and podcast production. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, long-form YouTube content under the Ricky Stoddart Nishikigoi brand and for managing the Koi Talk podcast in full – from recording to final release.
This role is not just about keeping things running; we want someone who can elevate our production standards with more polished shooting, creative storytelling, and refined post-production. You'll be working directly alongside our Managing Director, Ricky Stoddart, and will be encouraged to bring your own creativity to the table. With access to industry-leading equipment and all the tools needed to succeed, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Filming & ProductionCapture professional-quality video using our Sony A7S III, managing lighting, sound, and framing across both studio and on-location shoots.
* Editing & Post-ProductionElevate the standard of our output with creative, polished editing in Adobe Premiere Pro on a Mac Studio setup. Deliver engaging content that captures attention and maximises audience retention.
* YouTube Content CreationShape video flow, pacing, and storytelling for maximum impact and audience growth on YouTube.
* Podcast ManagementManage the Koi Talk podcast in full, handling recording, editing, post-production, and distribution to a professional standard.
* Creative CollaborationWork directly with Managing Director Ricky Stoddart to develop new ideas, experiment with formats, and refine content strategy.
* Equipment MasteryUtilise top-tier filming, lighting, and audio equipment to achieve the highest production quality possible.
What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience as a videographer and editor, with a strong portfolio (preferably showcasing YouTube or other long-form content).
* Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and experience working on Mac Studio systems.
* Ability to work independently and manage the entire production cycle from concept to delivery.
* Proven experience managing podcast production from start to finish.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ambition to raise production standards to the next level.
* A basic grasp of AI tools, particularly ChatGPT, and how to use them to repurpose long-form content into short-form (e.g., clips, captions, and social media content).
Nice to Have
* Knowledge or interest in Japanese koi (not required – training provided).
* Experience with motion graphics or After Effects would be a plus.
Salary & Benefits
* £30,000 – £35,000 annual salary (depending on experience).
