Job summary
Working within the rota team, the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support for the production and running of medical on-call rotas within the Medicine Department.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, confidential administration service in support of the Rota. Key requirements of the post are to proactively co-ordinate and troubleshoot the junior medical staff rota, ensuring that sufficient doctors are available to provide a ward and emergency on-call service. The successful candidate will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by, the Rota Co-ordinator to ensure that an efficient service is provided. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues

Main duties of the job
* Support with the co-ordination of the Medicine on-call rota. Also, the Resident Doctor's annual leave approval/recording process in line with Standard Operating Procedures ensuring that there are no gaps in service provision. Be responsible for the recording of annual leave, study and professional leave in support of the Service Manager.
* Continually monitor the on-call rotas for any upcoming gaps or potential issues and to escalate these to the coordinator
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines related to own service.
