The Role
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the Aberdeen area. This role will focus on the design and development of subsea cutting tooling, supporting a range of offshore projects.
You will play a key part in delivering innovative, robust, and reliable tooling solutions for challenging subsea environments, working from concept through to manufacture and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop subsea cutting tools and mechanical systems
* Produce detailed engineering drawings and models using CAD (SolidWorks desirable)
* Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection
* Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs
* Work closely with manufacturing, project, and offshore teams
* Ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications
* Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering function
About You
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience in mechanical design, ideally within subsea, offshore, or oil & gas sectors
* Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience desirable)
* Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
* Experience designing for harsh or subsea environments is advantageous
* Excellent problem-solving skills xsngvjr and attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
