North Middlesex University Hospital (North Mid) are searching for an experienced and passionate Band 3 - Dietetic and Speech and Language Assistant to join their highly skilled and enthusiastic team.

Please note this post will be 37.5 hours per week.
Job Purpose:
To assist the Dietitian & Speech & Language Therapists by undertaking clinical, administrative and practical duties within the Magnolia Inpatient Rehabilitation therapy team to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care which is holistic, efficient, effective and evidence based.
The main responsibility of this post is to work under the supervision of qualified Dietitians and Speech & Language Therapists (SLT), to undertake a variety of clinical and non-clinical duties to support the delivery of Dietetic & Speech Therapy Service to patients.
* You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the rehabilitation ward and externally.
* To have an awareness of multidisciplinary roles and a caring and empathetic approach within a rehabilitation ward environment.
* To be involved in the practical implementation of treatment plans designed by SLT/ Dietitians, monitoring patient response, adapting the programme within a pre-agreed framework, and reporting on progress.
* Monitor patients on oral intake/ nutrition support and feedback regularly to the dietitian and SLT.
* To facilitate the provision of optimal nutrition, swallowing and communication recommendations to patients on the ward.
* To help patients during treatment, individually and in groups, preparing the environment and equipment.
* To monitor and maintain stock and equipment e.g., nutritional products on the wards and assist ward staff with ordering procedures.
* To participate in In-house training and supervision to help develop the relevant skills and knowledge for the post.
* To assist the clinical teams in a range of activities including staff training, group education, admin associated with discharges including with enteral nutrition and support community referrals follow up visits where required.
Requirements:
* Be highly motivated and able to work flexibly in a busy rehabilitation ward environment.
* To have good spoken and written English and excellent communication skills.
* At least 6 months experience in the NHS within the last 3 years.
