About the role

The Senior ODA Delivery Manager is a key role as the Trust leads up to and delivers the Electronic Patient Record implementation. The role plays an integral part in prioritisation, planning, and delivery of the Office of Data & Analytics work aligned with the Trust’s strategic priorities. The manager works with senior colleagues to identify and refine key requirements, negotiates and agrees priorities among the ODA’s Extended SLT, and takes these priorities into the ODA Multidisciplinary Squads (containing Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Analysts, Data Scientists, Data & Analytics Business Partners, Test Engineers, etc.) overseeing delivery through agile management techniques. The manager communicates progress and blockers and facilitates the delivery of squad work.

Main duties

* Drive the prioritisation and refinement of requirements
* Gain consensus between ODA extended SLT on priorities
* Take priorities into multi-disciplinary squads
* Manage the delivery of priority requirements within the squads
* Communicate progress back to ODA extended SLT and beyond
* Provide line management as necessary


Essential person specification requirements


Qualifications

* Educated to Masters Level or equivalent experience
* Certified Agile Qualification or strong knowledge and experience of agile practices, tools, and techniques


Knowledge & Skills

* Extensive knowledge of digital industry standards and processes for planning and managing digitally enabled systems and services
* Understanding of equal opportunities and valuing diversity
* Excellent analytical and data/information management skills
* Excellent communication skills, including preparation and delivery of presentations, workshop design, facilitation, and effective inter-personal communication
* Excellent oral and written communication, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
* Excellent leadership skills, able to adopt appropriate management and leadership strategies and styles
* Expert user of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Experience

* Proven experience delivering high quality digital projects and products that meet user needs
* Extensive experience using agile project management methods and techniques to drive delivery
* Experience configuring tools to support agile planning and delivery (e.g., Monday.com & Trello)
* Proven experience challenging and removing barriers to service deliveryExperience scaling services into robust live operation
* Experience matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams
* Extensive client-facing and stakeholder management experience with clients, stakeholders, and contractors
* Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and manage ambiguity
