Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and implementing environmental policies, strategies, and protocols to support the delivery of a major offshore wind project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drafting environmental management requirements for procurement activities
* Evaluating the environmental management capabilities and systems of Tier 1 tender submissions
* Providing input to monitor environmental management and performance of ongoing development activities
* Supporting the examination process for the Development Consent Order where appropriate
* Reviewing compliance of environmental policies and procedures with existing third-party agreements
* Undertaking environmental audits of potential Tier 1 suppliers and supporting technical due diligence
* Reviewing environmental aspects of emergency preparedness and response procedures
Requirements:
* A professional qualification such as a Certified Environmental Auditor
* A minimum of five years' experience of environmental audits, management systems, and compliance
* Detailed experience of environmental management systems such as ISO 14001
* An appreciation of environmental laws and regulations, program management relating to pollution prevention, waste minimization, health and safety, and compliance
* Stakeholder/relationship management skills in a project development and construction environment
* Planning, environmental, or geographical degree or equivalent experience
* Demonstrable experience in the renewables or other relevant infrastructure sectors
* The ability to challenge the status quo, identify solutions, influence stakeholders, and enable a successful implementation
* Project Management skillsets
* Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks
* An organized approach to working, task prioritization, and time management
