Thrive Oldham are recruiting a Plant Operator in the Leicestershire Area. Job Purpose To work as a member of a team to deliver a best value, customer-focussed service throughout Leicestershire and occasionally surrounding counties, working flexibly, efficiently and effectively to maintain highways and footpaths, construct new roadways and structures, and effect solutions to environmental events in accordance with statutory requirements. Main Duties and Responsibilities 1. To operate heavy plant, such as tractors, roadmenders, multi-hog and other horticultural machinery 2. To work safely on the live public highway, observing Traffic Management requirements at all times 3. To work on a range of highways activities such as grass, verge and hedgerow cutting, small to medium patching works and other general maintenance activities. 4. To maintain training records in accordance with the requirements of the personal development process. 5. To comply with all authority and departmental policies, management systems, procedures and working practices (especially in relation to Health and Safety procedures). 6. Any other reasonable duties which may be allocated from time to time by management commensurate with the responsibilities of the post 7. Actively promote equality of opportunity, work towards eliminating discrimination and promote good relations between all groups of people Special Factors ·The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours, including working at nights and weekends. ·Working hours will start and finish at site or at a Depot. ·The postholder will be responsible for getting themselves to/from either the depot or site · To attend Health Surveillance appointments as required. ·The postholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service. ·Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service. £14.15 Per hour 7.4 hours over 5 days
