Are you a Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to learning?

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney seeking a Behaviour Mentor to provide targeted support for students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and challenging behaviour.

This role is vital in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, particularly those who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

Your Role – Behaviour Mentor

* Provide 1:1 mentoring and intervention for students struggling with behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills

* Support pupils with ASD and complex needs, helping them engage positively in learning

* Monitor and track student behaviour and wellbeing, providing feedback to staff and leadership

* De-escalate challenging situations using restorative and trauma-informed strategies

* Work closely with the SENCO, Behaviour Lead and external agencies to create supportive plans

* Act as a positive role model and advocate for vulnerable learners

* Assist teachers in promoting a calm, consistent classroom environment

You Will Need – Behaviour Mentor

* Experience working with young people with ASD, SEMH, or behavioural needs

* A calm, compassionate and consistent approach to behaviour support

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students

* Experience delivering 1:1 support or small group interventions

* Commitment to promoting inclusion, equity, and student wellbeing

* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

This role is ideal for:

* Behaviour Mentors or Learning Mentors

* Graduates in Psychology, Youth Work, or related subjects

* Anyone with experience in PRU, SEMH, inclusion units, or youth support services
