A supportive and well-organised 11–18 secondary school in Derbyshire is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of History to join its established Humanities department from January 2026.

The Role
This is an ideal opportunity for an ECT to begin their career in a department that understands the realities of early teaching practice. You will teach History across KS3 and KS4, with lessons supported by carefully planned schemes of work and shared resources that reduce unnecessary workload.
The curriculum is knowledge-rich and chronologically sequenced, giving you a strong framework to develop confident delivery, questioning and assessment skills. You will be supported in building lessons that develop historical thinking, extended writing and source analysis.
You will:
* Teach KS3 and KS4 History with structured planning support
* Develop strong routines for behaviour, retrieval and assessment
* Receive regular coaching, observation and developmental feedback
* Work closely with experienced subject specialists who enjoy mentoring ECTs
