Job Title: Spiral Machine Operative / Relief Warehouse Operative Location: Glasgow Reports to: Regional Operations Manager Employment type: Permanent Hours: Monday – Thursday, 08:00 until 17:00 and Friday 08:00 – 16:00, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Spiral Machine Operator / Relief Warehouse Operative to join our team. In this role, you will safely operate sheet metal machinery, using our Spiral Forming machine, to produce high-quality duct fittings, while also supporting stock management and warehouse tasks. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented. Key responsibilities Spiral tube production using the Spiral Tube Forming Machine, the close monitoring of both spiral & raw material stocks. The timely production of products to meet demand & delivery requirements. Operate Forklift Truck: Safely operate counterbalanced/ and or reach forklift trucks for material handling as required. Conduct pre-use checks and ensure all safety procedures are followed. General maintenance & cleaning of Spiral Forming Machine and generally working within systems & procedures laid down by the Company. The correct storage of stocked goods and the continual rotation of stocked items. The picking and preparing for despatch of customer / transfer orders. The safe loading & unloading of vehicles, the close monitoring of stocks and maintaining good housekeeping of the warehouse. Requirements: Sheet Metal Production Experience: Proven experience in a sheet metal or manufacturing environment, ideally with spiral forming machinery. Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy during production, stock counts, and documentation. Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safe handling, PPE use, and general H&S practices in a manufacturing environment. Record-Keeping Skills Ideal Candidate: Safety-Conscious: Always follows health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment. Reliable and Flexible: Willing to take on various tasks to support production and warehouse operations. Technically Capable: Confident in operating and maintaining sheet metal machinery, including performing minor troubleshooting and liaising with maintenance personnel. Team Player & Eager to Learn: Open to ongoing training, able to assist colleagues, and enthusiastic about developing new skills within the role.
