Hays is working with a secondary school in Newport with over 900 pupils to find a Science teacher. The school encourages pupils to take a proactive and creative approach to learning, allowing them to develop. The leadership team has a clear vision for the school and communicates it effectively to foster an inclusive ethos and a strong community feeling.
Your new role
Starting in September, you will be an integral part of the dedicated Science department, with responsibilities including:
* Teaching KS3 - KS4 students
* Nurturing a range of learning abilities
* Participating in staff meetings
* Attending parents' evenings
* Carrying out pastoral responsibilities
* Planning and preparing lessons
* Marking and assessing students' work
This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on the school and achieve success through your teaching.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PCET with Science experience
* Experience teaching science in a secondary school
* A proven track record of helping students succeed
* Strong classroom management skills
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council
* Hold a DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one
