An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a full-time, permanent post of Emergency Department Trauma (NMTR) Administration Manager. The role will concentrate on data identification, entry, analysis and submission onto the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR), as well as the attendance at relevant NMTR meetings and presentation of the data submission. The role will also liaise with the NMTR and local Trauma and ED teams to highlight any concerns and issues.
The submission of trauma patients onto NMTR, involves working through interesting and complex trauma cases and uploading the details of the hospital attendances, admissions, treatments and diagnoses onto the registry. This allows audit and review of the trauma process across the wider trauma network.
The role sits under the management structure of the Emergency Department. As such, You will support the Emergency Department Leadership team with data and analytics across many metrics to identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
You will work on a variety of projects, providing advice, guidance and support to the Specialty Manager and clinical team within the Emergency Department Division.
You will supervise, line manage and oversee the work done by any Data Analysts or coordinators submitting NMTR data.
Main duties of the job
Submitting data to the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR) is a national requirement for all UK Trauma Centres and Trauma Units, as it is essential for maintaining their accreditation.
High-quality trauma data is vital for patient care, national audits, service planning, and accurate commissioning. Reliable demographic and clinical information also supports smooth patient pathways, communication with relatives and GPs, and enables the Trust to recover appropriate income from commissioners.
The ED Trauma (NMTR) Administration Manager is responsible for supporting the Trauma team through effective data management, coordination of trauma services, and facilitation of the NMTR submissions.
The post holder provides operational leadership, ensures high-quality trauma data submission, oversees trauma-related meetings and governance, and supports the development of trauma pathways and education. This role requires expert understanding of trauma care pathways, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
