Under the supervision of the Director of Wellbeing, the Licensed Clinician will be responsible for the coordination, individual treatment sessions, plans, and assessments for their caseload. The role includes assessing and coordinating care for clients, creating and updating treatment plans, assisting with crisis situations and de-escalation, providing one-on-one consultations, and building resiliency, mental health supports, and community among youth at Urban Peak. The position also involves coordinating groups, classes, activities addressing mental health, and ensuring proper data collection and file maintenance. The clinician will ensure trauma-informed interactions and environments that prioritize safety. Outcomes include reducing harm, increasing resilience, and improving mental health in behavioral settings.
Who You Are:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with at least two years of experience working with youth.
- Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
- Lived experience reflective of the youth served is encouraged but not required.
- Experience in facilitating clinical groups and life skills classes with high-risk youth or special populations.
- Experience or willingness to adopt trauma-informed care.
- Competence and sensitivity in working with homeless youth.
- Strong communication skills, negotiation, and crisis intervention abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and collaborate with agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability under Urban Peak’s policy.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish, Vietnamese, ASL) are a plus.
- Ability to pass background checks and TB screening.
- Punctuality and attendance are essential.
What You Will Do:
Clinical Duties
* Provide evidence-based programming supporting positive mental health outcomes.
* Create and update treatment plans.
* Assess youth needs with evidence-based tools.
* Assist with Medicaid billing.
* Lead case assessments and coordinate with care teams.
* Support youth through crisis intervention and in milieus.
* Coordinate activities with staff and programs.
* Work directly with youth to support goals and well-being.
* Provide emergency interventions and support in crises.
* Deliver clinical sessions using harm reduction principles.
* Help develop social skills and coping strategies.
General Job Duties
* Represent Urban Peak in community education, advocacy, and funding efforts.
* Attend staff meetings and trainings.
* Participate in outings and volunteer training.
* Engage and recruit youth into programs.
* Support data collection and outcome measurement.
* Assist in securing funding for incentives.
