We’re looking for a confident KS1/2 or KS3/4 Instructor to join a vibrant Alternative Provision/PRU setting in Essex. This full-time contract role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys working in a creative, inclusive environment that supports students with a wide range of needs. You will be working with small, mixed-age classes and delivering lessons across a flexible curriculum, supporting young people who have struggled in mainstream education. Experience is desirable but not essential—what matters most is your commitment to building positive relationships and supporting students’ academic and emotional development. Key Responsibilities: Teach mixed-age classes in either KS1/2 or KS3/4, following an adapted curriculum. Support the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils with diverse needs. Deliver creative, engaging lessons that build confidence and encourage re-engagement with learning. Manage behaviour positively, using de-escalation and trauma-informed strategies. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support student progress. Assess and track student learning, contributing to reports and reviews. Provide consistency and encouragement to help students reach their full potential. Qualifications and Experience: Previous teaching or instructional experience in primary or secondary settings (desirable). A flexible, nurturing approach and excellent classroom management. Understanding of the needs of students in AP/PRU environments. Confident teaching a variety of subjects across key stages. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
