Position
Head of Drama – Start date: April 2026. Salary: ULT Teachers' Pay Range plus TLR2.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to lead our successful Drama department within the newly established Performing Arts Stream “Spotlight”. The role includes developing and embedding newly developed schemes of work, supporting students’ leadership, literacy and oracy, contributing to annual productions, and introducing Level 1/2 BTEC in Performing Arts with an eye to extending to KS5.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the Drama department and oversee all curriculum delivery.
* Embed and monitor the new schemes of work across all year groups.
* Contribute to and coordinate annual productions alongside the Performing Arts team.
* Develop and deliver Level 1/2 BTEC in Performing Arts, extending to KS5 where possible.
* Provide a student‑centred approach and go the extra mile to support all students.
* Collaborate with specialist Sound and Performance Technician and make use of the dedicated Drama suites.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant teaching qualifications and experience, including a proven track record of leading drama productions, are required.
