St John’s is a rapidly growing charismatic evangelical church of around 200 people, part of New Wine. Prominent location on Weymouth seafront, a town with huge tourist appeal but also major social needs. Major ministry commitments to children, families and youth - reaching hundreds each month. Many people are finding faith - 7 people baptised in the sea in the last 12 weeks, and 14 now attending Alpha. We have just launched regular town-wide youth celebrations, in partnership with other local churches, We have a vision for further rapid growth, with a focus on evangelism, community outreach and social action etc.
We are now seeking a worship leader who will:
Responsibilities
* Deepen and enrich our worship in our services.
* Take oversight of all worship-related ministry across the church.
* Lead, inspire and encourage our existing worship team.
* Invest in and encourage a new generation of musicians / singers etc - especially youth.
* Help lead area-wide youth celebrations, working alongside other churches.
* Lead a range of new initiatives to reach, encourage, support younger adults.
* Huge opportunities to shape your own role as part of a rapidly growing and dynamic ministry team.
About the Church
St John’s is a growing Anglican, evangelical church in Weymouth of around 200 people, with hundreds being reached every month in addition through our youth and children\'s programmes. The church is right on the seafront and is the most prominent landmark for miles around. We are a welcoming, worshipping, loving and growing church for people of all ages and stages of life. We meet together on Sundays and through the week – in the church, other local venues, each other’s homes and out and about as we worship, pray, learn and share life together.
