Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £52,000
Shift Pattern: Panama Shift

Our client is a long-established, market-leading manufacturer, with over 90 years of operational history. The business operates globally, supplying customers across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia, and generates annual revenues in excess of £100 million.
The site is a large-scale manufacturing facility, producing approximately 120,000 tonnes per year and supported by a second UK production site. The business supplies a wide range of well-known international brands, operating within a highly automated and technically advanced environment.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing Engineering team at a major UK manufacturing site. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of production and utility plant equipment.
The position involves planned maintenance, reactive breakdown response, plant modifications and small engineering projects, along with participation in call-out and shutdown programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and fault finding
* Provide a proactive and dynamic response to engineering issues
* Maximise equipment availability and production efficiency
* Support shutdowns and continuous improvement activities
* Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders via CMMS and email
* Accurately record work completed and spare parts requirements
Plant & Equipment Exposure
* Conveyors, elevators, pumps, motors, presses, boilers and packaging machinery
* Inline and shaft-mounted gearboxes
* Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
* Vacuum systems, dust extraction and cyclone units
* Hammermills, roller mills, de-stoners and grain dressing equipment
* PLC / HMI / SCADA systems
* Inverters, variable speed drives and soft start systems
* Pneumatic and electrically actuated valves
* 415V three-phase power, 110V and 24VDC control systems
* Steam systems (up to 100 PSI)
* Instrumentation including PID control loops, load cells, pressure and temperature sensors
