Job Title: Site ManagerLocation: MelkshamRate: £500 - £600 per dayHours: Full-timeI am working with a key contractor to recruit a Site Manager to lead and manage civil and electrical works on a major sub-station project. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of safety and quality standards within the electricity transmission industry.Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors, and site activitiesDevelop and implement safety documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Site Quality Plans, and Risk Assessments/Method StatementsConduct site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and daily briefingsPrepare daily Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and allocate tasksProduce and maintain site-specific risk and method statementsDevelop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completionCarry out regular site inspections for compliance with safety regulationsCommunicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholdersAttend weekly progress meetings and resolve on-site issuesEnsure quality control measures are implemented throughout the projectMaintain accurate documentation and site diaries Essential: NSI 6 & 8 FullSMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme)First Aid at WorkSHEA Power / CSCSTemporary Works Coordinator & SupervisorPrevious experience as a Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM) for National Grid Desirable Skills & Experience: SSE authorisation (minimum CAT1C)Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies within electricity transmissionCompetency to work in substations (66kV to 400kV)Knowledge of NEC contracts and current HSE legislationStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to manage budgets and meet programme timescalesIT literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)Full UK driving licence and willingness to travelRelevant qualification in construction, mechanical, or electrical engineeringNational Grid TP137.11 authorisation What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
