Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shift Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure a nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves supervising staff, engaging with children, and maintaining a safe and stimulating atmosphere.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team during assigned shifts, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication.
* Implement educational programmes that promote the development of children in accordance with early childhood education principles.
* Monitor the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery or childcare setting.
* Assist in training new staff members and provide ongoing support to ensure best practices are followed.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and other necessary documentation.
* Coordinate activities that engage children's interests and promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
* Background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
* Experience working with children, demonstrating an understanding of their developmental needs.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
* A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation as needed.
* A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development within a supportive environment.
