Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards.
* Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with food safety regulations.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and create innovative dishes.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
* Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
* Help develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences.
* Ensure that all dishes are presented beautifully and meet the restaurant's quality standards.
Skills
* Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and meal presentation.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy kitchen setting.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
* A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes or menu items.
* Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential.
