About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Engineer to join our Power T&D Team based in England (various locations). This position includes a comprehensive 13‑week Upskilling Programme that covers health and safety, first aid, digital skills, project management, technical documentation, environmental sustainability and commercial awareness. The programme also provides project shadowing and a final capability assessment to prepare you for a Site Engineer role.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead successful project delivery from planning and design through to commissioning, handover and close out.
* Interpret technical solutions and drawings, brief delivery teams clearly, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and correctly.
* Monitor progress, maintain accurate project records, support reporting and reviews.
* Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to keep delivery on track in line with programme, cost, quality and safety requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications: HNC Electrical and a full valid UK driving licence.
* Experience working in a construction engineering environment
* Experience implementing safe systems of work and managing risk and change
* Good understanding of project delivery, technical information and site-based coordination
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work well under pressure
* Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative, flexible mindset
* Awareness of commercial and contractual considerations
* Confidence using Microsoft 365
* Commitment to continuous personal development
* Formal qualification in construction or engineering, or equivalent industry experience
* CSCS and SSSTS (or equivalent), or working toward them
Training Course
The training course will start in early August. Applicants must be available to attend all 13 weeks of the programme.
