8am to 4.30pm and Friday; 8am to 1.30pm.
What the role is about
You're responsible for keeping the site running safely, legally, and smoothly. That means maintaining buildings, managing contractors, ensuring compliance, and fixing problems as they come up - while planning ahead to keep everything in good condition.
You'll support the Facilities & Maintenance Manager and act as the main facilities contact for the site and tenants.
Key responsibilities (day-to-day reality)
Handle facilities issues and requests quickly and effectively
Coordinate and support the Facilities Technician
Make sure the site meets legal, safety, and insurance requirements
Manage risk registers, inspections, and compliance checks
Oversee fire systems and safety controls
Plan and schedule maintenance and servicing across the site
Work with contractors and suppliers (security, HVAC, pest control, etc.)
Help manage contracts, SLAs, and costs with Procurement
Control facilities spend and keep work cost-effective
Manage contractors safely (SSOW, permits, site rules)
Coordinate repairs or projects and communicate with anyone affected
Manage waste and environmental responsibilities
Be the main contact for on-site tenants
Keep records, logs, and data (CMMS, compliance, sustainability, costs)
Follow company policies and deal with attendance/discipline issues where needed
Carry out other reasonable facilities-related tasksWhat you need (essential)
Qualifications
GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4 or equivalent)Experience
At least 3 years in a similar facilities roleTechnical
General building maintenance skills (e.g. plumbing, carpentry)
Understanding of different trades
Knowledge of health & safety complianceSkills
Clear communicator (written and verbal)
Comfortable using a computer for logs, emails, POs
Practical, organised, problem-solver, reliableNice to have (desirable)
Facilities-related qualifications (Legionella, electrical, cryogenic gases)
IOSH Managing Safely (or similar)
Experience leading capital or investment projectsHealth, safety & business responsibilities
Work safely and protect others on site
Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors follow H&S rules
Follow company policies, procedures, and quality systems
