The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support learners across KS3 and KS4, helping them engage in lessons, build confidence and access the curriculum. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral staff to deliver individualised support in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND or SEMH needs
*
Assist the teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
*
Support students with literacy, numeracy, communication and emotional regulation
*
Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
*
Help with differentiated resources and scaffolded learning tasks
*
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence
*
Contribute to classroom organisation, preparation and displays
*
Assist with wellbeing activities, interventions and enrichment sessions
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and support staff
*
Uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
Requirements
*
Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or transferable)
*
Genuine passion for working with pupils with additional needs
*
Good understanding of SEND and SEMH (training provided)
*
Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
Willingness to support across the full school day and school life
*
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
*
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Desirable (but not essential):
*
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
*
Experience in alternative provision or therapeutic settings
*
Experience supporting challenging behaviour
