Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering a major long-term civil engineering framework project. Initially based in Knutsford or Warrington, the role will transition to the Sellafield site after approximately 18 months. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring all quality standards are met and sustained, contributing to a defect-free end product and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the organization through regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Provide expert knowledge and guidance on quality control matters across the project lifecycle.
* Offer hands-on support to project teams to maintain technical records and strengthen competence in quality practices.
* Collaborate with site teams and internal/external stakeholders to continuously improve the Quality Management System using a Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology.
* Assist in the accurate reporting of project performance and quality metrics.
* Promote and support training and awareness programs that build technical, regulatory, and behavioral competence.
* Foster strong working relationships with project stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes and minimize defects.
Requirements
* Previous experience working in a construction environment with a strong understanding of construction roles and trades.
* Valid CSCS card relevant to the role.
* Proven ability to identify key issues, evaluate data, and provide actionable insights.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence.
* Excellent time management and workload prioritization capabilities.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Diploma or degree in a quality or engineering-related discipline.
* Certified ISO 9001 Auditor (Registered Lead Auditor status preferred).
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CQI/IRCA).
* Experience managing quality within complex infrastructure projects.
* Skilled in writing quality management documentation and conducting audits.
