Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation and supply chain processes. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. The Dispatcher will coordinate shipments, manage schedules, and maintain effective communication with drivers and clients to ensure timely deliveries.
Duties
* Utilise transportation management systems to schedule and dispatch shipments efficiently.
* Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimise supply chain operations.
* Monitor shipping and receiving processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Perform data entry tasks related to shipment tracking and inventory management.
* Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes that may arise.
* Conduct analysis of logistics data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
* Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities using software.
* Exhibit excellent phone etiquette while interacting with clients, suppliers, and team members.
* Assist in resolving any issues that may occur during the shipping process.
Requirements
* Proficiency in transportation management systems and logistics software is essential.
* Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective coordination.
* Proficient typing skills for accurate data entry tasks.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
