M&A Finance Analyst

Role Purpose
The M&A Finance Analyst will support the M&A Finance Director in assessing transactions across the deal lifecycle. The role will focus primarily on financial modelling, valuation, and ad hoc financial analysis to inform strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
* Build, maintain, and review financial models to support M&A transactions, including:
o Valuation models (DCF)
o Scenario and sensitivity analysis
* Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support deal evaluation, synergy assessment, and costs to achieve integration plans. Collaborate with integration and cross‑functional colleagues to develop synergy assessments pre‑deal.
* Assist in the assessment of acquisition targets, including:
o Historical financial performance analysis
o Forecast evaluation and assumption validation
o Review of financial due diligence reports and data books.
* Support the preparation of materials for internal senior management and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (FP&A, tax, legal, business unit) to ensure alignment on deal assumptions and financial outputs.
* Liaise with external advisers such as due diligence providers, private equity stakeholders as required.
* Contribute to post‑transaction analysis and integration‑related financial work, where needed.
Required Skills and Experience
* Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
* Advanced Excel capabilities; experience with PowerPoint desirable.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
* Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA) is advantageous but not essential.
* Prior experience in corporate finance, transaction services, investment banking, consulting, or a corporate M&A/strategy team preferred.
