We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the management of the end-to-end production of all lines within the Glasgow facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will manage a large team of Production Supervisors and be the leader for the wider manufacturing group. Overseeing a multimillion-pound budget, the role entails driving meaningful change with a focus on Health & Safety, Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Drive the production team to deliver to customer expectations by meeting and improving safety, quality, cost and delivery metrics.
* Coordinate and control budgets for equipment and personnel in line with agreed cost structures.
* Actively participate in global operations knowledge sharing forums to inform and adopt internal and external best practices.
* Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
* Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to improve our culture of operational excellence
* Own all aspects of Production KPIs and drive continual improvement and cost reduction strategies
* Managing team conformance to all ISO and H&S standards, taking a lead role in internal and external auditing processes
* Develop key relationships with stakeholders across the factory to accelerate product introductions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
* BSc or MSc degree in Engineering, Science or Management
* Demonstrable experience of managing teams within a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent people management skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self-motivated and driven personality.
* Confident to lead teams of highly skilled people and to be an active participant in multi-disciplinary groups.
* Can evidence proven cost-saving strategies and their outcomes
Preferred Additional Skills
* Project management experience.
* Familiar with Lean Production and Six Sigma principles.
* Oracle and Agile business suite experience.
* Advanced user of MS Office packages and especially of Excel.
