We are seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a well-established 3-bed children's home in Gravesend, registered for children with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD).
This is a fantastic step-up opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of Deputy Manager experience, ready to progress into a Registered Manager role. The service is fully occupied, rated highly by Ofsted, and supported by a knowledgeable, stable, and friendly staff team.
You'll be joining a home that is therapeutic, child-centred, and compliance-driven, with a strong focus on attachment, safety, and achieving long-term outcomes for the young people we support.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home.
* Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to staff, ensuring best practice in care delivery.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and organisational policies.
* Contribute to care planning, staff supervision, and quality assurance.
* Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover when required.
* Build strong, positive relationships with young people, promoting safety, independence, and growth.
About You
Essential:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Deputy Manager in children's residential care.
* Strong knowledge of EBD and LD support strategies.
* Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Flexible and resilient, with a commitment to child-centred practice.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with therapeutic and attachment-based approaches.
* Experience working in homes rated "Good" or "Outstanding" by Ofsted.
