Currently, JBT has a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester.
Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established in 1998, Proseal has become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK and is recognized internationally, with offices and manufacturing facilities across the globe.
The Opportunity
The Field Service Engineer role at Proseal is vital to our success, ensuring top-tier on-site service and customer support. It is essential that candidates present a professional image and uphold our company's standards.
Jobholder Responsibilities
1. Perform PPM service work on machinery and tooling within our install base.
2. Commission machines, conveyors, tooling, and bespoke equipment on-site.
3. Support breakdown situations on-site.
4. Participate in on-call and service duties as scheduled.
5. Provide remote support to customers and engineers.
6. Conduct operator and technical training at customer sites or Proseal locations.
7. Respond to on-site customer support requests, working independently or as part of a team.
8. Manage customer requirements, ensuring understanding and fulfillment.
9. Complete all administrative tasks promptly.
10. Assist in machine building or testing in the workshop as needed.
11. Contribute to continuous process and service improvements.
12. Stay updated with new technologies and procedures.
13. Ensure customer satisfaction before leaving the site.
14. Report progress and follow-up needs to the Service Manager.
15. Provide feedback on common issues and potential defects.
16. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
17. Perform any other duties necessary to meet business needs.
18. Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills and confidence in customer interactions.
* Flexibility to work varying hours and away from home.
* Punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and self-motivation.
Experience/Qualifications
* Essential:
o Recognized apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
o NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation or maintenance.
o Valid UK driving license.
o Current passport for potential international travel.
o Proficiency in MS Office (PDF, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
o Understanding of health and safety obligations.
* Desirable:
o Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
o Knowledge of PLC systems, including uploading/downloading programs.
o Understanding of motion control systems, servo motors, and frequency inverters.
