IMEG is growing, and we'd love for you to join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our South Dakota office. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will assist Project Managers with engineering analysis, permit applications, and construction plans. You will also direct and train Civil Design Technicians and Civil Designers.
Independently, you will evaluate, plan, and conduct work requiring judgment, adapting standard techniques and procedures. You may devise new approaches, perform technically challenging work, and exercise project leadership on certain projects.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
* Drafting procedures and system requirements for clients
* Using various design software
* Coordinating with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines
* Completing permit applications for municipalities
* Designing flexible and rigid pavements
* Designing geometric pavement and site circulation
* Preparing specifications and cost estimates
* Assessing traffic and guardrail warrants
* Receiving work assignments checked by peers or supervisors
* Training Civil Designers to assist with reports, plans, and permits
Required skills and abilities:
* Knowledge of design techniques and principles for technical plans and drawings
* Understanding of construction materials and methods
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written
* Ability to interpret design criteria and produce high-quality documents
Education and experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
* Professional Engineer license
* At least 4 years of relevant experience
