Our Locality Services team is looking for a proactive and friendly Neighbourhood Management Assistant to help us keep our neighbourhoods safe, supported and well‑maintained. About this Neighbourhood Management Assistant job: The Neighbourhood Management Assistant supports the team to deliver high‑quality tenancy and estate management, carrying out estate inspections, coordinating support referrals for residents, and assisting with customer engagement activities. The role is ideal for someone organised, approachable, and confident working with diverse and sometimes vulnerable customers. Here’s what you’ll get up to: You’ll lead on managing email, written and telephone communication professionally and in line with corporate guidelines. You will be out and about throughout the district supporting the Neighbourhood Management Officers with tenancy and estate management. You will assist the Tenancy Sustainment Officers in recording referrals, going on visits and supporting tenants. You’ll be responsible for carrying out health and safety and fire safety checks at our blocks of flats across Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay and villages. You’ll be getting involved with the community through tenancy audits, lettings, follow-up visits, community events and engagement activities. Working pattern Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays 37 hours per week A full week off over Christmas in addition to your annual leave allowance Your Knowledge: Good understanding of housing management Knowledge of the needs of complex and vulnerable people, and ability to translate this into practice Knowledge of health and safety and risk management applicable to housing and vulnerable people Experience: Experience of dealing with a range of customers and complex situations Skills: Must be able to demonstrate ability to give correct information and advice to the public in a convincing and customer-focused manner Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload to meet deadlines Ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal form, at all levels and to diverse audiences with a high degree of clarity and professionalism Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Qualifications: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle or be able to demonstrate effective coverage by other means. Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances. Interviews will be held on 9 April 2026.
