About the Role
You will be an Order Fulfilment Specialist within the purchasing team. You will have specific responsibility for the processing of Exceptional deals, Temp Po's, and Milestone Bill orders. You will be working with internal sales teams, specialists and external suppliers to advise on deals. You will support the Order Fulfilment manager to ensure orders are processed accurately and on time to successfully meet target deadlines.
What you'll be doing
* Self-management of workload and time scales is imperative to ensure company targets are met by prioritising and placing orders on time.
* Processing sales order types including high value, high impact orders using comprehensive knowledge of designated vendors with a thorough understanding of complex order processes
* Using comprehensive knowledge of agreements and products to provide expert guidance to Softcat Account Managers and customers on programmes and processes
* Working directly with vendors and fostering collaborative relationships to ensure on time targets are met and fees are paid
* Instructing internal vendor specialists on operational processes at a high level to expedite urgent orders, to fix customer processing errors, select product combinations and meet contractual responsibilities
* Pro- actively manage any risks to the business caused by non-compliance.
* Understand legal terms and conditions on order forms and partner/reseller agreements to minimise risk and protect the business and end user
* Identifying opportunities for cost savings through currency variations and vendor programme rules with reference to levels and product selection
* Working autonomously and making decisions for the best possible outcomes, even in the absence of management or account managers
* Mentoring junior members of the team and upskilling them
* Supporting Order fulfilment manager with onboarding new processes, vendors, products.

* A self-starter attitude to pro-actively problem solve and advise
* Ability to adapt quickly and retain large quantities of information
* Ability to remain calm and focussed whilst under significant time pressures
* Excellent time management skills and willingness to work anti-social hours on occasion
* The right attitude to set an example for junior members of the team showcasing responsible and professional actions
* Experience in a procurement role and in-depth knowledge of specific categories
* Ability to multitask, set own deadlines, prioritise and deliver against them.
