Are you a creative and motivated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher ready to shape the minds of the next generation of designers, engineers, and makers? A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is seeking a part-time DT Teacher to join their vibrant team from January 2026.
Whether your passion lies in resistant materials, product design, engineering, or textiles, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to deliver hands-on learning experiences that engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver dynamic and practical Design and Technology lessons that inspire creativity, problem-solving, and innovation
Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 depending on experience)
Use a variety of tools, materials, and technology (including CAD/CAM) to support skill development and curriculum goals
Maintain a safe and engaging workshop/classroom environment, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards
Track student progress through effective assessment and provide constructive feedback to support growth
Collaborate with colleagues in the DT department to develop engaging resources and share best practices
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and practical thinking
Support extracurricular opportunities such as design clubs, STEM challenges, or school exhibitions
Requirements:
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Design and Technology or a closely related subject (e.g., Engineering, Product Design)
Experience teaching DT in a secondary setting
Confidence in delivering practical lessons and managing workshop environments
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
A passion for inspiring students to explore creative and technical disciplines
