A brilliant secondary school in Batley is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and caring Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting pupils aged 11–16 with behaviour needs, additional learning needs, and general classroom support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference every day while developing your experience in a supportive school environment.
Although the role will begin on a day‑to‑day basis, the school has been consistently busy and has a strong track record of offering regular work and even long‑term placements for the right person.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them stay engaged and focused
2. Providing SEN support, adapting tasks and offering 1:1 or small‑group guidance
3. Assisting teachers in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
4. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
5. Helping maintain a calm, safe classroom atmosphere
What We’re Looking For
6. Experience working with children or young people in a school ormunity setting within the last two years (essential)
7. A patient, resilient, and encouraging approach
8. Confidence supporting behaviour and additional needs
9. Someone who can bring energy, empathy, and reliability to the role
