An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent neonatal team here at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT). Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the biggest and busiest Level 2 units in London. We care for babies born at 27 weeks gestation and pride ourselves on providing a perfect environment for these tiny neonates to grow, thrive, and develop. At BHRUT, we have a dedicated and dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to maintaining the highest standards of neonatal care. The successful applicant will join a team that includes Neonatologists, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, including neonatal community outreach services, and a dedicated Education Team providing clinical training and support within the neonatal unit. We also collaborate closely with a motivated team of allied health professionals to deliver family-centered and psychosocial care for our patients and their families.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, hardworking, and positive-thinking Neonatal Qualified Specialist Nurse to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality care and promoting excellent care for all our babies and their families.

Working for our organisation
We are an organization committed to continuous improvement, driven by a determination to deliver care we are proud of and that our patients appreciate. We are no longer in special measures; we have opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH). Our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer, was named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal in 2024.
Our main sites are King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We operate two busy emergency departments serving over 330,000 visitors annually. We are campaigning to secure £35m to transform the A&E at Queen’s Hospital and eliminate corridor care.
Our patients benefit from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. These CDCs operate 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 94,000 scans annually.
Our staff, numbering over 8,000 from 146 different countries, predominantly reside in the diverse London boroughs we serve. Many staff members work flexibly, and over 400 participate in our Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer. We are also introducing an electronic patient record system to enhance staff efficiency and patient care.
