Potterspury Lodge School is an Ofsted registered independent specialist school offering 38 week, term time education for students aged 8 – 16 years old with Autism Spectrum Condition, complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Contract: Permanent | Full-time
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: up to £55,000 per annum DOE

Purpose
The Head of Education will lead the Education Team to achieve good and outstanding academic and wider outcomes for the students at the School. They will drive improvements in the quality of teaching and learning across the School, the curriculum, and in assessment practices, ensuring students' needs are met, overcoming individual barriers and fostering a love of learning.

The Head of Education will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, and follow School policies and the staff code of conduct.

* High level of oral and written communication skills
* Capacity to deputise for the Principal when required

* Effective and skilled at implementing systematic behaviour management systems with clear boundaries, rewards and praise
* Knowledge of recognised positive approach to working with challenging behaviours associated with learning difficulties
Qualifications
* No criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands or bindings over which may be relevant to the safety and welfare of students or staff
* Degree level teaching qualification
* Clean, current driving license
