Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that delight our guests while ensuring the highest standards of kitchen operations. This will suit someone wanting two days a week to include some Sundays and also holiday and Sickness cover.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Oversee meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet our high standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.
* Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
Experience
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment is essential, with prior restaurant experience preferred.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
