Graduate Design Engineer Role:
* Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Principal Engineer you will perform design and draughting duties using Siemens Unigraphics NX and TeamCenter.
* You will release engineering data and other engineering documentation as well as:
* Investigation and problem solving.
* Co-ordination with other functional areas: Test & Development, Assembly, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Materials.
* Liaison with suppliers on component specification and fit for purpose - checking design meets the brief and internal and external legislative requirements and documenting compliance where necessary.
Graduate Design Engineer Requirements:
* You will a have a relevant qualification in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
* Experience of working with a 3D CAD package.
* Recent graduate or a junior engineer with some industry experience or placement experience.
* You must be literate, numerate and articulate, able to take direction and work as part of a team.
* You will have interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate and work with people outside the engineering functional area and with external suppliers.
* Work within a team, utilising own ideas and initiative to drive design solutions.
* You will be able to apply your academic abilities to the solution of practical engineering problems.
* You will need a sense of urgency, the ability to take ownership of assigned work and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
