Overview
Part of a small successful engineering group, a leading subcontract component manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Operator/Programmer to join their close knit team based in Stockport. Specialising in the production of high precision CNC turned parts for a variety of industries, they use a variety of sliding-head and lathe machines to produce components to high tolerances.
They are now seeking a skilled CNC specialist to join their team, ideally who has either sliding head, or twin or triple turret machine experience. This role can either be a Programmer/Operator role, or purely an Operator role depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Setting and operating a range of CNC sliding head and lathe machines
* Producing components in stainless steel and other metals to required tolerances and quality standards
* Finishing components to the highest quality standards
* Identifying and recommending programme amendments to improve efficiency and/or quality
* Making authorised amendments to CNC programmes to meet component design requirements
* Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet the required quality standards
Candidate profile / Requirements
* Experienced CNC programmer OR setter/operator with experience of sliding head machines, although applications from enthusiastic individuals with turning experience who want to enhance their career prospects by learning these machines would also be welcome
* Experience of programming FANUC controls will be beneficial
* Qualified through apprenticeship or time served
* Able to manufacture precision components from fully understanding engineering drawings in terms of tolerances, surface finish etc.

Location, Hours & Benefits
This is a permanent role working a 40 hour week (Day Shift), offering a solid package and great working environment, with training provided where necessary.
