The Searchlight Group, operating The Light Cinemas, Light Entertainment, and All Star Lanes, is seeking a Leisure Technical Manager. This role will ensure the smooth operation of all technical aspects of leisure activities across the group (excluding non-technical activities like climbing). Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical processes, liaising with suppliers, and supporting project development.
The Leisure Technical Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting leisure operations, ensuring a smooth technical experience for guests. This position requires a full, clean driving license and the flexibility to travel across the UK. The successful candidate must also be available for after-hours calls, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, on a shared rota basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with leisure suppliers to install, commission, and maintain leisure equipment across all sites.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and mechanical issues related to leisure activities and point of sale (POS) infrastructure
* Implement new technologies (both hardware and software) that align with the company's strategic goals.
* Collaborate with the IT and Operations teams to create a reporting process/system for issues, and track and report on these issues at agreed intervals.
* Maintain and monitor leisure equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Keep leisure downtime within an agreed target.
* Ensure that the Net Promoter Score (NPS) for leisure visits remains above 60.
* Ensure that all leisure activities comply with required health and safety standards
* Conduct regular audits and maintenance visits for leisure activities, ensuring that all systems meet company standards, and provide reports on performance and maintenance.
* Work with the Operations and People teams to create and maintain standard operating procedures and training guides for each leisure activity
* Collaborate with Operations to ensure that all relevant team members are fully trained to operate leisure activities and perform troubleshooting and basic repairs.
* Work alongside third-party suppliers and contractors to resolve issues in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Liaise with relevant suppliers to stay updated on the latest releases and developments in leisure equipment.
* Be available for on-call support during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a scheduled system.
About You:
* Proven experience in repairing and maintaining equipment within a leisure or customer-facing business.
* Strong understanding of using software systems in a leisure environment.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
* Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks across various locations.
* Personable, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Possession of a full, valid UK driving license, along with the flexibility to travel to sites across the UK
