About the role
As a result of rapid growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join our high performing Recycling & Waste Operations and Projects team assisting in the delivery of our largest service, and one that affects every household in our district every week. You will be responsible for collating, monitoring and analysing waste management data and service contracts and you will work collaboratively with our partner contractor, households and other stakeholders to ensure the most effective and efficient waste management provisions, driving high recycling rates and levels of compliance across the district. On a typically busy day you could be resolving operational problems on site, dealing with customer enquiries or taking the lead on an improvement project; and whilst based out of our headquarters in Honiton, you will also be working from home, making site visits to our contractor and travelling around the district to monitor compliance on the ground - at times you will need to be hands on and prepared to handle waste materials. Adaptability is key to deal with the challenges of delivering a fast moving and essential service which is customer focussed.
About you
You must have a HNC level qualification in an environmental discipline and formal project management training or equivalent experience. A Health and Safety qualification would be a distinct advantage. You must also be adept at building positive working and customer relations with a variety of stakeholders and have excellent report writing, IT, data management and organisational skills. Practical experience in a recycling and waste operation undertaking similar work and/or a capacity for innovation will set you apart from other candidates. If you have an interest in the environment and enjoy working to deliver a large scale customer focussed logistical service and a passion for continuous improvement (self and operational) we are interested in you.
