Our client, a reputable organisation dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children, is hiring for a Deputy Manager at their new 3‑bedroom Childrens Assessment Home. This Deputy Manager role offers a meaningful opportunity to support children through structured assessments, helping to promote positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Providing high‑quality, person‑centred support to children facing various challenges
* Supporting children during assessment placements and observing interactions
* Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional support of children
* Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to deliver consistent care
* Leading shifts and supervising residential staff to maintain high standards of care
* Following policies, procedures, and placement plans in line with Ofsted regulations
* Producing detailed, evidence‑based reports and maintaining a safe, structured environment
* Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childrens Residential Care or equivalent
* Experience working within residential childcare and with young people
* A manual UK driving licence
* Strong communication, observation, and report‑writing skills
* Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
* Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma‑informed care
* Experience supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviours
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and a team‑oriented approach
